Aperture and Exposure

Shutter: 11
Aperture: 3.7
ISO: 1000
(Option 1)
Out of all the pictures taken this one of a rusted white iron gate gave me the most trouble. It was one of my first shoots for the day and I was still getting the hang of adjusting both the shutter and aperture speeds. Along with this struggle, the conditions of the day also played a part in the my delayed shooting speed. With the wind moving as strong as it was, clouds would move in front of the sun almost instantly not giving me enough time to adjust my settings for the sudden change in light. Eventually I figured this out, and was able to decide to either wait for the sun to pop back out, or predict when the cloud was about to overshadow the sun and quickly adjust my settings. Another conflict that I had was the fact that my camera had a hard time focusing on what I wanted it to focus on. Originally I planned to have it actually focus on the iron gate, but found that if I pointed and focused on the blue brick wall instead the camera would actually take the image. Eventually I got the hang of it and was able to almost without thinking start adjusting my settings higher for less light and lower for more light in other areas where I shot.
